Potato (Aloo) Jeera
Ingredients:
- 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- 1. Heat ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- 3. Add the diced potatoes to the pan and sauté for a few minutes.
- 4. Sprinkle turmeric powder and salt over the potatoes. Stir well to coat.
- 5. Cover the pan and cook the potatoes until they are tender, stirring occasionally.
- 6. Once the potatoes are cooked through, garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
- 7. Serve hot as a side dish or with puris during Navratri.
