Chatpata Aloo Chaat
Ingredients:
- 2 medium-sized potatoes, boiled, peeled, and diced
- 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
- Rock salt (sendha namak), to taste
- Tamarind chutney (optional, ensure it's suitable for fasting)
Instructions:
- 1. Heat ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2. Add cumin seeds to the hot oil and let them splutter.
- 3. Add diced potatoes to the pan and sauté until they turn golden brown and crispy on the edges.
- 4. Sprinkle red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, and black salt over the potatoes. Mix well to coat evenly.
- 5. Add chopped green chili and continue to sauté for another minute to infuse flavors.
- 6. Turn off the heat and transfer the spicy potatoes to a serving bowl.
- 7. Drizzle lemon juice over the potatoes and toss gently to combine.
- 8. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- 9. Sprinkle some rock salt (sendha namak) on top for additional flavor if needed.
- 10. Serve the spicy Aloo Chaat immediately as a delicious snack or side dish during Navratri fasting.
- Optionally, you can drizzle some tamarind chutney on top for extra tanginess.
